Safe in my arms

Feeling a bit nostalgic today. Thought I'd share a video I made for my boys a few months back.
Turn up the sound. It's a beautiful song...

Mmmm Pickle!

I tried to post this last night, but my computer was being slow.

Yesterday, David discovered a major food group in our house. Pickles! Hilarity ensued as we watched him share a pickle with his daddy. He only sucked some of the juices, but he would yell at Matt when he would take it from him.

Here are some picture of him discovering the giant pickle jar and eating his pickle.

Blue and Gold Banquet

So I missed my goal of posting something on my blog everyday, oh well, what can you do? I've been enjoying my mom visiting and watching her drool over the kids. Good times...

On Tuesday Matthew's Cub Scout troop had their Blue and Gold Banquet. He had alot of fun. We had pizza and played games. Here are some pics I took.

These things travel in 3's

Things have been busy. I've been cleaning and organizing my house. It felt really good to get all that stuff done. I even had a couple of friends come over and lend their ears and muscles. Thanks ladies!

Well yesterday as Matt and I were watching a movie, I noticed it was getting noticably colder in the house. So I get up to turn up the heater, but I see that it's already set to 75. Hmmm...

So, after some investingating on behalf of my husband, we determine that our heater is broken. Oh the joys of home ownership. So we call the repairman, but it's a Friday afternoon and he was really busy. So hopefully he will come on Monday.

This morning we headed off to the airport to pick up my mom. We get all the way to St. Joe and realize that we've been driving on a flat tire the whole way. Luckily we had decided to leave 2 hours earlier than we planned. So we head over to the local Walmart to fix our tire. It takes about 45 minutes. Didn't cost a dime cause Matt bought a warranty. Gotta love him.

So now we're thinking what else could happen. These things usually travel in 3's.

The Dance

I went and got my camera to upload that crazy dance Matthew was doing the other day and discovered that my camera had some kind of disfunction and deleted the video. Grr! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to catch him doing it again. So when I get it, I'll share it.

"Milk! Milk!" and other happenings

Today has been much better than the last two days. David is still teething, but it's managable. I have been trying to teach David the sign for milk for the past couple of months. I didn't really have any expectation of him learning it right away, but figured I'd start him out early. Well, for the first time he signed "milk" It's really easy, it's just opening and closing your fist. So everytime I would get ready to nurse him I would say "David, do you want milk?" and do the sign. Today he signed it back to me! I was so excited and proud. Now the drawback is after he woke up for his nap I went to pick him up and he's franctically signing "milk!milk!" and crying. I had to laugh, it was really cute. I just hope he doesn't misuse his new found power. :)

Matthew had cub scouts today. It's the second meeting he's been to and he really seems to enjoy it. Today they learned about knives and what you should do if you get a fish hook stuck in a finger. They demonstrated on a hot dog by sticking it with a fish hook and showing the damage it could do to your finger if you try to just rip it out. Ouch!

On another note: For Valentine's Day Matt gave me a card that plays music. Matthew got a kick out of opening it and miming the words that play before the song kicks in. I wasn't really paying much attention to him cause he was playing with it for a few minutes, then all of a sudden I notice that he's dancing to the music. I died laughing. He was shaking his shoulders and movin his hips and he had the most serious look on his face...priceless. I will be posting the video of said dance. It's hilarious, but alot funnier to watch in person.

Baby Fever

Bear with me, I've had roughly 4 hours of sleep.
Today has been a little rough. I went and picked up Matt from school at midnight last night, he had been studying all day. We got home and finally setteled down for bed around 1am. A little before 5 David wakes up crying. He normally wakes up around this time cause he wants to be fed.I went and picked him up and discovered that he was burning up! Took his temp and it was 101. Poor baby. We got him some tylenol and he fell asleep on my chest for a little bit. He was so congested he kept waking up coughing. He slept like that off and on for about 30 minutes. I finally got him to settle down and he slept really sound for a couple of hours on our bed. Then it was time to get Matthew off to school. Matt let me sleep while he got Matthew to school at 7:30. I woke up at 8, showered, dressed and Matt called the dr. office to make an appointment for David. It's at 9:30. So we get David up, dress and change him and off to the dr. office. The doctor we saw today is not our normal doctor. She is very high strung and I had to pay close attention to catch everything she said, she talked REALLY fast. I wonder if she moonlights as an auctioneer. Luckily Matt was there and was able to fill me in on the things I missed. So we head over to the store to pick up his medicine and while we are there I'm talking to David and notice that his upper gums are swollen and red. Yep, he's cutting two more teeth. He just got finished cutting his bottom teeth last week. So that's probably what caused the fever and ear infection.
He's feeling a little better now, but I can tell he's just not feeling to good.

Just call me Hunchback

I've decided to try my hand at this whole blogging thing. Here it goes.
Yesterday started off well with church and then visit teaching afterwards. We visited 2 ladies and I always enjoy visiting with them. Matt and the kids had already been home for a couple of hours when I got home. I found them laying in bed watching a movie. We decided to all pile on the bed and take a nap, kind of a Sunday tradition at our house. Much to my dismay I find out that Matthew had been eating bread on our bed...again! So I get up and start sweeping off the crumbs. I'm kinda irritated, so I was just trying to get it done so I could lay back down. I took a swipe at the bed and pulled or tore a muscle in my back. Not only was I not able to take my nap after that, but I could barely move my head! I feel like a hunchback (no offense to hunchbacks) cause I can't straighten my neck to look up. I'm feeling a little better than I did yesterday, but still really sore. Ugh...getting older sucks.
