Daffodils

I posted a while back about how we had found all these tulip bulbs and that we planted them around a tree. Well they came up...and they are daffodils. No offense to daffodils, I was just really wanting them to be tulips. Oh well. We are going to plant tulips in between the rows of daffodils, I think that will look really pretty. Here are some pics of the flowers.

I went around with my trusty camera and took some pictures of our property.

Here is our dog Dax

Our garden. It's the biggest garden we've ever had. Can't wait to see the veggies of our labor!

We planted:

tomatoes (roma and big boy)

bell peppers

jalapenos

oni0ns

purple and green cabbage

eggplant

cauliflower

broccoli
A big dandelion I found in our yard.

So, I wasn't going to post this, but this is our concrete pond (aka pool) We are working on it now to get it all cleaned out. The first step was to get the millions of frogs out. Matthew took care of that for us, so we are now pumping out the nasty water. Then we'll be ordering a new liner for it. Summer...here we come!! :)

For Your Viewing Pleasure

11 Months old

Frogs and Flying Babies

Yesterday, Matthew and his friend Jana went out to our concrete pond (aka pool) and caught some of the noisy frogs that had taken up residence there. They caught 16 total!! Jeez! And believe it or not, there are still some in there. They were relocated to the local creek. The frogs, not the kids...haha! Matthew also had baseball practice yesterday. They worked on catching grounders and flyballs and practiced their batting. He enjoyed being outside.

I took these pictures of David just a couple of minutes ago. Matt was outside with him, throwing him up in the air and I instantly was inspired to catch him mid-flight. We had a good laugh looking at them. I gave Matt a workout cause I kept making him throw David up in the air until I caught the perfect moment.
The first one is my favorite. He looks like a giant baby sittin in a tree..haha!!

Batter Up!

Matthew had his first practice today for baseball. We found out that his strong point is batting, he's really good at it. He seems really excited to start playing some games and learning more about the sport. Here are some pics I took while we were there.

Getting a pep talk from Dad.

Learning how to catch grounders.

ready to go.

David did really good...for about an hour. Then he decided he wanted to go home. Luckily the field was in the next town over which is only 7 miles from home.

The Farmer Rabbit King

Matthew's class is having what they call a "Hat Parade". He was to create a hat and make up a story about it. This is the hat he came up with. He made up the story completely by himself.

Once upon a time there was a Farmer Rabbit King.
He had chickens and they had eggs and he always got the eggs and painted on them. One morning when he was going to get the eggs, there were no eggs! He went to the vet and the vet checked the chickens out and he noticed a problem with the chickens. They were very sick with the hiccups. That's why they weren't laying eggs. The Farmer Rabbit King took care of them until they got better. Then when they were better, they started laying eggs again. The Farmer Rabbit King was very happy from then on.

Pie Eating Contest

A few weeks ago our church had Pie Day. We went and tasted lots of yummy pies and later they had a Pie Eating Contest. Matt and Matthew both competed.

Matthew didn't win his, but we were both very proud of him for trying. He's never really liked competing in anything, so this was a big deal. He did very good.

Matt won his round, beating the previous years winner, Mark Galbraith! He's the one right next to Matt.

Ok, so I've been told I need to blog more. (Dad) So I will try to post more. I make no promises as David is getting increasingly mobile. But I will try to try. :)

Spring!!

It's finally Spring! We have been busy getting our yard all cleaned up in preparation for planting. Matt found a bunch of tulips growing in the lot where the old house was, so we dug them up and replanted them. Matthew helped us and he had a lot of fun.

The before picture. We hadn't put the tulips in yet.

Our little helper with his shovel.

My cute hubby getting ready to plant all those tulips for me.

These are all the tulips we found! It's going to look so pretty when they're all in bloom. I'll post pics when they do.

Such a goofball. Gotta love him.
He's getting so big. I have a hard time believing I have an 8 year old sometimes.
Playin in the dirt. You can see the playpen in the background. That's where David hung out. He giggled at the dog the whole time.
He's giving me the "Are you still taking pictures of me?" look.
All done! I can't wait to see what color they are!

Oh, and Matt bought 60 tulip plants last month. We still haven't planted those. Our yard is going to be filled with tulips. Yay!
